Accounts Payable Officer

This is a Temporary, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

We’re looking for an Accounts Payable Officer to join Amplius on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in supporting our finance team, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and suppliers are paid on time. You’ll work closely with colleagues and suppliers, helping to keep our financial operations running smoothly.

 

Salary: £33,773.60 per year

Contract: Full time, 6-month fixed term contract

Your week: 36.25 hours Monday – Friday 9am – 5.15pm

Location: Hybrid with a weekly presence in our Boston office

 

Snapshot of your role

  • Process invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring correct coding, authorisation, and compliance with financial regulations
  • Manage the accounts payable inbox and respond to supplier queries professionally and efficiently
  • Prepare and upload weekly payment runs and one-off payments for approval
  • Ensure compliance with procure-to-pay processes, rejecting invoices that do not meet required standards
  • Reconcile payment transactions through bank matching on the system
  • Process sundry payments, utility bills, council tax, and staff expenses including credit card reconciliations
  • Support audits, cashflow activities, and work collaboratively across teams to resolve finance-related queries

 

What you’ll need to thrive in this role

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English at grade C/4 or above
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and financial controls
  • Experience working collaboratively within a team and across departments
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders and suppliers
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure
  • Good problem-solving skills with strong financial awareness
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial systems
  • High levels of integrity, professionalism, and a proactive, adaptable approach to work
